With Cheney-Lippold’s drone program example in mind, I thought of this app, which was on and off the App Store for years and now appears to be permanently down. The app gave users a push notification whenever a US drone strike occurred. As detailed in the article, Apple claimed the content of the app was “excessively objectionable or crude.” It would be hard to say that the app “humanizes” the datafied terrorist “signatures” targeted by the US’s drone programs, but even code that points to the program itself can be "objectionable."
