This article is not about waste but relates back to Week 10 on privacy and surveillance. Google recently completed a nearly nation-wide (40 states) 300+ million-dollar settlement as a result of mass data breaches by the company. This public scandal brings the tech industries reckoning with issues of surveillance to center stage and could mark a change in national (and international) policy as well as industry accountability.
