Julia Rose Camus - Additional Post 2

Thinking back to our class discussions surrounding Code/Software/Algorithms, I've been trying to dig up this project I encountered a few years back based on Gayatri Spivak's seminal essay: Can The Subaltern Speak? which feels directly in conversation with Allucquère Rosanne Stone's “Will the Real Body Please Stand Up?"

This digital art piece designed and created by Behnaz Farahi engages with the politics of the veil in Iran, by fully automating a set of veil-like masks that have functional electronic eyes that communicate with each other in order to create their own language based on their interaction with each other routed through code.
